I found this extraordinary image in the very beautiful photostream of kona49, truly winter rose buds.

this is the rose bush seen earlier infront of yellow beech tree. It has been frosted then thawed, a beautiful skin like quality....

winter shows itself

it is very unusual for this rose to bloom late (I thought the earlier last fling was the last); but this one flower then got caught by the frost - frozen raindrops then frost crystals.
